<SNIP> Though I can see why the Iranians are pissed. The film (and graphic novel for that matter) does portray the Persians in a bad light. Like Pathfinder. The Vikings didn't visit North America more than once, and they befriended the first tribe they met, the Beothuk. It wasn't until the Micmacs attacked the Beothuk that there was any combat. -- I believe.I'm seeing this movie tomorrow, and based on what all of you are saying I'm excited now. Yes, very good. Watch.

300 is awesome, but yeah I can see where the Iranians are coming from. Still it was a great movie, very sad too.

Another movie to watch for: "Warrior" www.imdb.com/title/tt0409457/"A drama about the warrior Boudica and her rise from peasant roots to become a military leader who led Britain against the Romans in 61 A.D., and who was posthumously crowned the first queen of the empire." It looks like this is the first writing project for the writers so lets hope they do a good job. I would love to see a good film on Boudica.

Ooh, I must say that sounds interesting. The director has apparently had some experience though. Out of all the films he's done I've only seen "Miracle" which wasn't bad. Hopefully they'll also pull in some good actors and actresses too.

Well the subject matter is indeed promising. By the way, which empire does Boudica become queen of? Weren't the Celts in Britain divided into their tribes and stuff? I know she united them but I'm just curious what empire is being referred to.

I was wondering the same thing.
Since Queen Victoria was seen as her namesake, I would guess that they mean the first queen of the British Empire.

Yeah it's most likely the British because for sure it's not the Romans

Well they've also got Mel Gibson producing it Producing it, not directing. The most he can do is like give a thumbs up or down on the final cut, and give money of course

I hope Gibson and the director do their research though. All we need is another "Battle of Stirling Bridge" on an open plain. I'm already a bit uneasy with the plot description saying she rose from her "peasant roots". I hope they're not going to turn her into Britain's Joan of Arc or something.

Or basically another Braveheart plot formula.
Though if Gibson is producing it, maybe he could ask the director if they have them speaking in Gaelic and Latin.
