Who did not like the ending?
Wtf! Scott can't die! He shot down a JU87 with only an M1 Garand and he gets killed at the end! WTF!

Well...it was okay for me, but that part did kind of surprise me when he got shot. What else did you have in mind?

Yeah it was sad when he died, but thats like the reality of war and all. The only thing I wish is I wish I knew what happens to Ben and Jane

Well...it was okay for me, but that part did kind of surprise me when he got shot. What else did you have in mind? Look, I'm not saying the movie was bad, I just didn't like the ending. Obviously Scott was skilled enough to shoot down a JU87 and be the first line of defense. How is it then he can't kill the last guy that was about to shoot Towne? How is it he ends up getting killed by that guy? The way I would have liked it (the way I thought the movie was going), was for Towne to die and somehow somebody else would have to inform Jane that he liked her. It would have been more tragic, like real life. But no, it looked too much like Saving Private Ryan at the end. The planes come in, blow up the tank, and the guy that should go home goes home. As to how he could have died...idk. My idea, would be for Ben to distract the Germans allowing the other two to escape unharmed. Then Ben could hold off a bunch of Germans with his Thompson shouting "Jane!" and he'd take out a lot of them, but there would be so many that eventually he'd get shot up. And another thing...they should have had more Germans.

Fair enough.
But at the same time, they never show exactly how he died either, just the expression on Ben's face as it happened. So maybe he was out of ammo or something.

I thought the ending was nice, especially the moment when the planes come out, even though as you said its kind of taken off from Saving Private Ryan. The only gripe I might have was just that the poem thing was a little too mushy perhaps? But if I had to change it I think that all of them should die.

...The only gripe I might have was just that the poem thing was a little too mushy perhaps? The deal with the poem (and to a certain extent Ben and Jane's relationship) was inspired by Henry James' Daisy Miller. You can read all of it here: pd.sparknotes.com/lit/daisy/

A tad sad, yes, and remarkably similar to SPR, but I thought it was very well done. May it Be made it perfect, although I think that song is a bit over used.

Well the music cues in the ending (and the rest of the movie) I thought were great. Who made the call of putting Disturbed at the end?

Credit would have to go to Jorge for that one.
