There were so many bloopers because of its suckitude. However, then again thats what makes some parts funny. Parts like the leghtspeed scene are funny, but other parts of the speech just make you want to fast-forward

Another factor that contributed to the quality of the film was the time they had.
They only had one day to film it, and they did this all in one class. Essentially, they only had 10 minutes to film the whole spaceship sequence, and they had to do it all in one big take. If they had more time, it would have been better.
Also, the speech was meant to explain to the TxPREP class how the Ares I would work. However, I agree that it could have been summarized a little more.

Well, they at least had enough time to make that spaceship model. That was kind of cool, but funny with that carboard lightspeed background.

Yeah, that would be cool if they really did make an Ares I. Something that could take off like a plane and then use its own propulsion stuff to make it get into space. Instead of all those expensive booster rockets that we use right now.

But we have no "lightspeed techonology" but it would be cool of NASA could build the thing that they were talking about. The "hyperdrive." Maybe they should research it. It would save us a lot of money on missions to other planets and moons in the solar system. It would only take us 4 years to reach the Alpha Centurai system.

NASA should make the spaceships safer first of all. Then they should make them faster, and capable of getting off the earth by themselves. We need to go back to the moon first, and set up a permament base there an keep on adding to it.

Yeah, though the hyperdrive could first be tested with robots, and eventually we can see the fx of using humans with it. Like the guy said in the movie, they could turn flat (which I don't get, since there is no wind resistance in space).

That's if they can even make it work. Eistein said nothing could approach the speed of light. However, I think this movie found the loophole, that if you connect and travel with light, you'll move at its speed.

i think that theory might be good right now, but I think it'll be proven wrong, like when people thought the earth was flat. If aliens can get here faster than the speed of light, then so can we (and yes, I do believe in aliens, and they have advanced systems being studied in area 51).

I heard that alines use some type of anitmatter mechanism to distort time and space to get wherever they want, and we're trying to copy that same mechanism.

Yeah, but does that mean they travel faster than light, or do they just distort time to make it seem as they travel faster than light. In other words, does it take them thousands of years to get here, and they travel back in a time machine, or can they really travel fast?

I think he means whether you go back in time like in a time machine after going really slow, or do you just travel really fast to begin with

Oh, I get it. I just think that they would both travel really fast, and use some mechanism to distort time and space, and create a wormhole or something.

I heard once that wormholes may exist, but nothing would happen when like you would go through them. I think like maybe this antimatter thing could distort like all those physics laws and maybe shorten the distance to allow you to get there like really fast.
