Share them, talk about them, discuss your favorite scenes or moments, etc.
My overall favorite would have to be Saving Private Ryan. I know this will probably be among everyones favorites but let's face it. Spielberg did a good job of capturing the chaos of the war.

Schindler's List by far. One of the most perfect movies by far.
In terms of WWII movie with battle scenes and such, I'd agree that Saving Private Ryan would come to mind first with me.
Letters from Iwo Jima was a recent one I saw that is now a favorite of mine. Great movie.
Downfall was also an amazing story with superb acting from Bruno Ganz.
Patton was also a good one and even helped me on an essay I had to write once.

Saving Private Ryan and Schindler's List are great, let's not forget the classics now
The Great Escape Good all around performance
Bridge on the River Kwai Great story and Alec Guinness does a great performance, thought provoking as well
And of course Patton was already mentioned. I would take that one as my overall favorite.

Well Private Ryan and Schindler's list are probably among the best of recent WW2 films. I haven't seen Letters from Iwo Jima yet but I hear that it was pretty good according to the critics. However, another recent film I'd like to put up here would be "Life is Beautiful." Its sad, its funny, its tragic, and yet there's those happy moments in it as well. For all the non-combat WWII films, that one is my favorite.

Ah I've pnly seen a few parts of "Life is Beautiful" and they were horribly dubbed....
I would also like to add The Thin Red Line onto my list.

Tora! Tora! Tora! is also good. It shows Pearl Harbor from both perspectives, and pretty faithful to history as well.

Ah I've pnly seen a few parts of "Life is Beautiful" and they were horribly dubbed.... Really? I take it you were watching the English dubbed version because I've been told that it sucks before. I saw it with subtitles in the original version where they speak Italian and German. My favorite part from that would have to be when they ask for a translator at the concentration camp and the guy volunteers and starts saying a bunch of nonsense instead of what the Nazi officer is really saying. I'd post a video link here but I can't find one with the subtitles. Tora! Tora! Tora! > Pearl Harbor

Yeah, Casablanca is another good one. It has some of the best lines in film history.

You guys named much of the films that I would've posted on here but here's a few more: Empire Of The Sun (the part with P-51s raiding the airfield is my favorite) " P-51 Cadillac of the Sky!!!"
Kelly's Heroes
Battle of Britain
and Cross of Iron is definitely awesome. Favorite quote from the film: "And I will show you... where the Iron Crosses grow."

" P-51 Cadillac of the Sky!!!" <SNIP> I don't know that much about this stuff, so.... Aren't they Mustangs? (sounds like Jessica Simpson "Chicken of the Sea? I thought it was fish!")

Yeah, P-51 Mustang. Here's the whole scene. Just wait and see what happens when the singing ends. And by the way the kid is actually the guy that was in the newest Batman movie. He basically has an orgasm (for lack of a better word) when he sees the P-51 in action, up close and personal. It's pretty much his favorite plane and has been one of my favs as well so I kind of had an orgasm myself when I first saw this scene. I was just basically in total awe. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bej9Pmx7U0c
