I was watching the Texas vs Ohio game last night, but after seeing enough of Texas getting slaughtered, I switched it to CSTV as you suggested, and that was a really good game! Powerful offenses battling it out. You lucky fools got to see it live though. It was awesome being able to see it from the stands. Though the direct cause of the loss was the Texas Tech field goal and the deflected pass that lead to an interception, I think it had more to do with strategy. I still can't understand why UTEP went for 2 twice instead of going for the extra points. Had they just gone for the extra points, we would have won by 1 or 2, and we wouldn't have gone into OT. In the end I guess it came down to defenses. We both had powerful offenses but the Texas Tech defense just gave us a harder time. But to still send the game into OT, I have to give credit to the UTEP for making that game into a thriller, and being able to play against a Big 12 team the way they did

I wasnt at the game but i see what you mean about going for the two points instead of 1. The reason Coach Price would have gone for 2 early was so that they wouldnt have had to make another score altogether, since another possession would obviously have taken more time and might have been a 3-and-out.
Coaches, to my knowledge, all have a sheet that tells them in what score scenario they should go for two (e.g. 19-0, instead of having to make 2 touchdowns and 2 field goals, you can cut it to two touchdowns w/ 2 2 pt. conversions and 1 field goal). It usually tells you to go for the touchdowns/2pt. conversion later rather than sooner (i.e. the bigger, tougher score for last), but Price decded to do the opposite right? Going w/ the 2pt. conversions early. Also, considering UTEP's kicker and the high-powered offense, going for two almost sounds like a safer bet in this case.
So even if they would have gone for the 1pt conversion, that would have changed everything wouldnt it? Texas Tech would have used a different strategy, etc...
All in all, for holding its own against a Top 25 team, not too shabby.

Talk about the NFL, College footaball, or even your high school football. I'm going for the Steelers all the way! Don't count on the Steelers to win the SB this year. They lost to the Cardinals!

That was preseason so it really doesn't count. We'll just wait and see.

Mara, the Cardinals arent such a bad team anymore, they have a high powered offense now (especially at WR).

USC vs Nebraska today
Why do people think Nebraska has a chance against USC? Even without Reggie Bush they're still favored by 19 points!Just look what USC did to Arkansas. They beat them by 36 when the spread was 8.5!

Did anybody see the LSU vs Auburn game? Battle of the defenses, but LSU almost had it in the end, it came close, really close.
As for USC vs Nebraska, USC is going to win this. Nebraska never had a chance. USC is still too strong of a team

What got me was the Notre Dame game. They had hopes of taking the national title this season, but the way they got blown out by Michigan in their home field, kind of ruins those hopes.

The latest poll has Auburn as #2 now, but Notre Dame went down to #12 I think.
On the subject of pro football, I was wathing the Eagles vs Giants game. On the last drive, who thinks that the ref should have called like an Eagles interception? It was hard to tell since they both got their hands on it like around the same time. But I think the Eagles had it, plus they came out with the ball at the end. At the very least the play should have been challenged. Of course, my opinion could be biased

Or do you just dont like the Giants? What play are you talking about? The game-winner in OT? 'Cause if so, there was no question that Plaxico (cool name) caught it, gained possession, and scored. AND came out w/ the ball at the end.

Hey Max, Ben couldn't help the Steelers against the jags. They'll be lucky if they can even make it to the conference championship

Whats with all the Steeler-bashing? LOL
The guy almost dies in the offseason, recovers, had just gotten his appendix removed and decides to play after some time, and now its all over?
Hmmm no i think its still a bit early. Besides hes in my fantasy team LOL I need him to throw lots of TDs. ;D

I don't consider myself to be bashing the Steelers, but I wouldn't count on them being in the superbowl this year (compared to when we could expect the Patriots to be in it a few years ago).
As for the Eagles vs Giants, I think Mara is referring to the play that occured a bit before the last one. They both caught it but the Giants still had control and possesion of the ball, and he only let it go when he was on the ground. That's when the eagles came out with it.
